A major renovation is underway at the PAX clinic in downtown Kananga.  (click here to see it)

With a $90,000 gift from Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C., space is being renovated to create a modern health center especially for women.  This will include:

    • Modern delivery facilities and equipment, Operating Room
    • A complete, modern operating room.
    • OB/GYN exam and consultation rooms,
    • Recovery and nurse's observation rooms,
    • Beds and private rooms for patients,
    • All necessary physician and nursing staff.

But an additional $33,000 was needed to complete construction.  Friends of IMCK was able to send $10,000 toward this remaining need in February of 2017 and has almost another $10,000 ready to go as of March 31.

More than that, ongoing funds are needed for operating a modern facility that local people in one of the world's poorest countries cannot pay for.  Therefore, a permanent endowment fund has been established and 25% of all donations made to complete the women's center will go into the endowment fund to help keep it running -- INDEFINITELY!  As of 3/31/2017, this trust fund stood at over $386,000; the goal by 2020 is $2 million -- that equals needed donations of $1,177 every day through 2020!

Tax deductable gifts for the women's healthcenter and the endowment can be made by clicking here.    On the next page, be sure to select "PAX Women's Center" in the box labeled "Project Designation".
